Petr Hloušek

A graduate of the Surka School in Brno (1986 – 1990) and the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava with Professor Dušan Kállay (1990-1996, book illustration), he is especially known as a graphic designer and the author of an entire number of logos and visual motifs for advertising and socio-cultural events. He was able to test his talent for illustration in the book Svět zvířat [World of Animals], for which he created around 160 illustrations, especially of birds.

In 2005, he began working with the Brno City Theatre, preparing source materials for animated stage projections for its production of Magical Broadway. Along with director Stanislav Moša
and scenographer Jaroslav Miltfajt, he created a visually imaginative musical version of Vančura's Markéta Lazarová (2007).

By this time, he had focused on the areas of scenography and video. He tested the possibilities of illustration in stage projections in further productions of the Brno City Theatre (Jazz Side Story, Death of Paul I, Red and Black). He continues to apply his experience as an illustrator
and graphic designer to short film productions such as music videos, documentaries
and advertising, both in storyboard creation and post-production technologies.
